About Me

Art has always been my bridge to others. It connects me to my family, heritage, community, and nature. I draw on the visual languages of American Folk Art, Post-Impressionist landscape, and Fauvism. These influences drive me to translate the world beyond what is seen.​

My current work explores the connections between nature, community, memory, and physical materials. I try to combine fine art and craft while celebrating the special beauty of human imperfection. Following this idea, I often paint memories of local landscapes, make paper or glass structures, weave tiny clothes, and shape small ceramic containers. Different materials help me explore feelings about memory, belonging, absence, and the deeper qualities of a place. I try to balance materiality with concept to show both what I see and how I feel. I focus on getting my art materials locally whenever I can. I plan to keep improving this approach throughout my life by working closely with other makers, crafters, and artisans.
